While the New England Patriots awaited punishment for DeflateGate, they were busy making roster moves.

The Patriots signed offensive lineman Kevin Hughes and tight end Fred Davis, and released veteran cornerback Kyle Arrington. The Davis and Arrington transactions previously were reported.

Hughes originally signed with the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Southeastern Louisiana in 2011. He also has spent time with the San Diego Chargers, Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers.

Hughes was released by the Panthers on March 10. The 6-foot-4, 315-pounder played three games in 2011 with the Rams.

The Patriots’ roster now sits at 89 players, leaving them one slot on their 90-man roster.
