Phil Jones has been a social media users’ favorite for some time and he further endeared himself to them with a unique piece of defending in a high-profile Premier League game.

Jones performed a crawling, and eventually diving, header in the 1-1 draw between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford on Saturday. Jones’ determined intervention prevented Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud from shooting on Manchester United’s goal in the 22nd minute.

Jones’ header drew howls of laughter on Twitter, and Sky Sports analyst Gary Neville also giggled during the broadcast.

Jones, 23, has become one of Manchester United’s most dependable performers in 2015. His performances at center back have convinced Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal to offer him a new, long-term contract, according to The Telegraph. Jones’ many faces and styles of defending could live on for years to come at Old Trafford.
