BOSTON — Do not adjust your television set. The Red Sox turned back the clock Tuesday night.

The Red Sox celebrated the 40th anniversary of their 1975 American League champion team by wearing throwback uniforms for their game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The old school duds were just a taste of the awesome festivities that took place at Fenway Park.

Carlton Fisk, Luis Tiant, Jim Rice, Carl Yastrzemski, Dwight Evans and Fred Lynn were among the Red Sox legends who participated in a pregame ceremony Tuesday. The Red Sox also gave away bobbleheads depicting Fisk’s famous home run in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series.

The 1975 squad definitely will go down as one of the greatest in Red Sox history. Their uniforms weren’t too shabby, either, making for a memorable night at the yard.
