The New England Patriots added another familiar face at linebacker.

The Patriots re-signed veteran linebacker Dane Fletcher, the team announced Tuesday.

Fletcher began his career with the Patriots, playing for New England from 2010 to 2013 before signing a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last offseason.

Fletcher will help boost the Patriots’ linebacker depth along with Brandon Spikes, who also originally came to New England in 2010, spent four years with the team and departed for one year before returning this offseaosn.

Fletcher went undrafted out of Montana State in 2010. He started six games in four years for the Patriots, recording 51 tackles and four sacks. He also contributed on special teams.

Fletcher and Spikes will back up Patriots starting linebackers Dont’a Hightower, Jamie Collins and Jerod Mayo. The Patriots’ roster currently sits at 89 players.
