Maybe, just maybe, the NFL’s most powerful bromance can be saved, after all.

The ongoing catfight between NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft over Deflategate might be reaching its end. The two football power brokers are in San Francisco for the NFL Spring Meeting, and reconciliation could be in the cards.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Goodell and Kraft have already met in San Francisco, apparently both in private and in public. Schefter reported Monday night the two sides are working through back channels in order to avoid an appeal for the Patriots’ Deflategate penalties, and on Tuesday, Schefter tweeted these tidbits.

Now, we’re not ruling out the fact that both Goodell and Kraft might just be celebrating the upcoming release of the “Entourage” movie, but this more likely indicates the two are at least willing to put aside differences for the time being. Or, at the very, very least, they’re willing to give off that impression, presumably with hopes of coming to terms on some sort of amicable decision.

Then again, maybe it means nothing at all. Given the way this story’s played out, who really knows at this point?
