Report: Tom Brady Suspension Appeal Date Not Set Yet

Uncertainty continues to swirl around Tom Brady’s four-game suspension.

A date hasn’t been set for Brady’s suspension appeal, a source with knowledge of the situation told ProFootballTalk. The deadline to set a date is May 27, but the NFL and NFL players association can agree to postpone it.

The NFLPA hopes to complete the appeal in June, PFT reports. That would leave time for the NFLPA to take the NFL to court if they aren’t happy with the results of the appeal, PFT points out.

Roger Goodell hasn’t formally responded to the NFLPA’s request for the commissioner to recuse himself as arbitrator in Brady’s suspension. Goodell’s lawyers submitted paperwork last week “stating his view to not recuse himself,” NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported.

Goodell said last week at the NFL Spring Meeting he personally wants to hear from Brady.
