Raheem Sterling soon could be on the move, as far as houses are concerned.

Sterling has taken early steps to sell his current house near Liverpool and find new lodgings in London, The Mail and The Mirror both reported Monday. Sterling’s property shuffle could hint at a potential summer transfer from Liverpool to a club in England’s capital city.

“England international Sterling has taken the first steps towards putting the property in the seaside town of Southport, 20 miles north of Liverpool, on the market although he has yet to decide whether to rent it out or sell up,” the Mirror’s report said.

Sterling currently is in a contract stand-off with Liverpool, and suitors reportedly are ready to bid for his services during the summer transfer market. But Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is adamant the 20-year-old forward will remain at the club next season — either on his current contract or a new one.

Sterling grew up in London after moving there from his native Jamaica with his family when he was a child. He played in Queens Park Rangers’ youth system before joining Liverpool in 2010.

Sterling has since blossomed into one of the world’s best young players and is a key figure in Liverpool’s lineup.

Arsenal and Chelsea, London’s leading clubs, are on alert for any change in Sterling’s availability, according to the reports.
