You think Rusney Castillo wants to join the Boston Red Sox?
Castillo, who currently is stationed at Triple-A Pawtucket, made some major noise at the plate Friday as the PawSox suffered a 6-5, 13-inning loss to the Columbus Clippers at McCoy Stadium.
Castillo, batting second and playing center field, launched two home runs in the extra-inning defeat. He crushed a three-run homer to the opposite field in the third inning and then added a solo blast in the fifth inning, giving him four RBIs for the contest.

The 27-year-old reached base four times total, as he also doubled off the center field wall and walked.
Castillo was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Indianapolis Indians with an ankle injury after sliding awkwardly into second base, so it’s encouraging to see the Cuban outfielder show no ill effects while generating such power just two days later.

Castillo’s performance certainly adds to an already intriguing situation. The Red Sox have received little production from their right field position this season, which has increased the buzz surrounding Castillo, who remains in the minors despite signing a seven-year, $72.5 million contract last August.
Castillo is hitting .293 (17-for-58) with two homers and nine RBIs in 15 Triple-A games this season.
