They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so Kris Bryant should be feeling pretty good about himself right now.

The 23-year-old Chicago Cubs super prospect has given the Windy City plenty to be excited about this season, but on Wednesday night he also unknowingly gave them something to chuckle about. During the Cubs’ 6-5 win over the St. Louis Cardinals, Bryant moved over in front of shortstop Starlin Castro to field a ground ball, but the three-time All Star wanted in on the fun too.

Castro perfectly imitated Bryant as he fielded the ball — from the scoop to the crow hop to the actual throw to first — without Bryant having any idea of what was going on behind him. The play was as entertaining as it was confusing for first baseman Anthony Rizzo, though, who looked a bit perplexed by the synchronized fielding.

The Cubs’ win also marked the end of the Cardinals’ eight-game winning streak, so the North Siders had plenty of reasons to smile Wednesday.
