Things are starting to look up for Wade Miley.

The Boston Red Sox left-hander struggled out of the gate for his new team, but he has posted some impressive outings of late. His most recent start — a seven-inning effort in Boston’s 4-3 win over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night — was enough to earn him Amica Pitcher of the Week honors for the first time this season.

Miley came out firing, keeping Texas off the board for the first five innings while Boston scored four runs. The 28-year-old surrendered two runs in the sixth but bounced back with a scoreless seventh to exit the game with a 4-2 lead.

When all was said and done, Miley gave up two runs on seven hits and struck out seven Rangers batters while allowing only one walk. The effort earned him his second win in his lat two starts and improved his record to 3-4.

Miley has allowed just nine earned runs in four May starts, dropping his ERA from an unsightly 8.62 to 5.10 this season.
