BOSTON — Blake Swihart launched his first major league home run Thursday, and it left no doubt as it exited the ballpark.

The rookie Red Sox catcher got a hold of a fastball from Minnesota Twins starter Tommy Milone and sent it clear over the Green Monster seats, possibly breaking a window or two down on Lansdowne Street.

Swihart’s blast put the Red Sox up by three runs in the third inning of the teams’ series finale at Fenway Park, but Boston went on to lose 8-4.
