Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, shocked the world when she confirmed rumors earlier this year that she was, in fact, a transgender woman. As Bruce, Jenner was an Olympic gold medalist and considered one of the greatest pure American athletes of all time.

With his dashing good looks and national pride on his side, Jenner quickly became a cultural icon. After several marriages, Jenner finally settled down with his now ex-wife Kris Jenner, with whom he became stepfather to the famous Kardashian children and had two more children of his own with Kris.

Bruce’s popularity has been rekindled in recent years through the family’s reality TV show, “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” but the limelight has made an internal gender identity struggle all the more painful.

Jenner finally revealed her new look Monday on the cover of an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair, which featured Jenner posed publicly as a woman for the first time.
