George Karl has a new team, but apparently he’s up to the same old tricks.
The Sacramento Kings head coach made headlines Tuesday when Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reported Karl was trying to convince the team’s front office to trade Cousins.
Shortly after Woj’s report, Cousins deftly used emojis to express his feelings for Karl.

Get it? Cousins is calling his coach a snake in the grass for reportedly trying to ship him out of town. Pretty clever, right?
Sure, but he’s certainly not the first one to make a “snake in the grass” reference. Several NBA stars have sent similar tweets in the past, from Carmelo Anthony to J.R. Smith to NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala.
So what do these players all have in common? They all played for Karl on the Denver Nuggets and sent those tweets around the time of their departures from the team.

If Cousins’ tweet occurred in a vacuum, we might cut Karl some slack. Judging by these tweets, however, it appears there’s mounting evidence Karl is, indeed, a snake in the grass.
