Diddy isn’t going down without a fight.

A representative from Sean “Diddy” Combs’ company said Tuesday that the rapper and hip-hop mogul was acting in self defense when he was arrested for an alleged assault involving a kettlebell in the athletic facilities at UCLA, where his son, Justin Combs, plays football.

“The various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are wholly inaccurate,” Nathalie Moar, a rep for Combs Enterprises, said in a statement to The Associated Press. “What we can say now is that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son.”

UCLA’s story differs greatly from that of Diddy’s camp. Bruins sources say the rapper, who was angry that his son was kicked out of practice for slacking, was the aggressor in the situation, hurling expletives at and attacking strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi before swinging a kettlebell at an intern.

The Associated Press reported that the district attorney’s office doesn’t expect the case to be presented until next week.
