Someone decided to have a little fun with Wikipedia recently and edited Emmanuel Mudiay’s page to read that he’s a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The page has since been corrected, but like a lot of things that are deleted on the Internet, it lives on in the form of a screenshot.
Whoever edited this page didn’t do a very good job, though. If you’re going to edit the information to say he’s on the Lakers, you have to also add which pick and round he was drafted in. Leaving them TBA is pretty sloppy.
Mudiay is among the top prospects in the 2015 NBA Draft. He’s a combo guard with size, athleticism and the ability to score with his outside shot or by driving to the basket.
The Lakers, who got lucky in the draft lottery and won the No. 2 overall pick, need a point guard. Mudiay or Ohio State combo guard D’Angelo Russell would be good fits for Los Angeles.
That said, the top two prospects in this class are centers Karl-Anthony Towns of Kentucky and Jahlil Okafor of Duke. It would be a surprise, and quite possibly a mistake, for the Lakers not to select one of these players at No. 2.
