John Farrell Continues Searching For Best Lineup On Daily Basis (Video)

Another day, another Boston Red Sox lineup.

With both the Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles having a day off Monday, Farrell expects the Oriole pitching staff to be rested and ready to go. Because of that, he opted to shift between left- and right-handed batters throughout most of Tuesday’s lineup.

The Sox will face off against righty Miguel Gonzalez, and as such will move Mookie Betts into the No. 8 hole in the lineup. NESN’s Tom Caron, Steve Lyons and Dennis Eckersley broke down the struggles Farrell has faced in creating a consistent lineup every day.

“Day-to-day with this lineup, to me, when it comes to a left-handed pitcher like (Wednesday) with (Bruce) Chen, what are they going to do?” Eckersley asked. “The question is (David) Ortiz. Do you put Hanley Ramirez at DH off left-handed pitching?”

Check out more from the trio in the video above.
