Josh Hamilton Suffered Hamstring Injury During Walk-Off Hit Vs. Red Sox

ARLINGTON, Texas — Josh Hamilton was out of the Rangers’ lineup Tuesday because of tightness in his left hamstring.

Hamilton told reporters he felt the injury occur when he hit first base and was halfway to second base during his walk-off double Sunday against the Boston Red Sox at Globe Life Park.

Hamilton, who considered Tuesday’s absence against the Chicago White Sox to be a precautionary move, told reporters he has been wrapping his hamstring since he started to play minor league games last month before rejoining the Rangers on May 25. But the hamstring wasn’t wrapped Sunday when he received a break from the starting lineup and later entered as a pinch-hitter against Boston.

Hamilton said he received treatment all day Monday — an off day for the Rangers.
