Liverpool fans expect Emre Can to have a big season in 2015-16. Can is delivering for Germany’s U-21 national team right now.

Can scored a fine solo goal Wednesday in Germany’s 1-1 draw with Serbia in the 2015 U-21 UEFA European Championship.

Germany already was trailing in the 17th minute recieved a pass at the top of Serbia’s penalty area, evaded one defender with a dribble and shot past four more plus the goalkeeper.

Can’s goal was part of “man-of-the-match” performance in his, and Germany’s, tournament opener.

Can played as a defender for most of the 2015-16 season — his first at Liverpool and in the Premier League — but he likely will earn the bulk of his playing time next term in the midfield. Many Anfield denziens hope he can help replace departing captain Steven Gerrard in Liverpool’s midfield.

Can is off to some start in that regard.
