LSU Outfielder Makes Ridiculous Catch, Doubles Off Runner At First (Video)

Andrew Stevenson just made the play of the NCAA Tournament, and they’re not even to Omaha yet.

Stevenson, the center fielder for LSU is considered one of the best defensive outfielders in all of college baseball. Anyone doubting that claim should have their minds changed just by watching the catch the outfielder made Monday afternoon.

Stevenson made a remarkable catch in the right-center field gap in an NCAA regional game against UNC-Wilmington, going full extension to make the grab. Just as impressive was how quickly Stevenson got to his feet, spun and fired the ball back toward the infield where a runner was doubled off at first.

Oh, as you might imagine, this isn’t the first time Stevenson has done this.

But, seriously.

As good as the catch was, you could make the argument it’s not even the best catch made by an LSU outfielder in the last year or so. Teammate Jared Foster made this game-saving catch last season — with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the ninth of a tie game — against Texas A&M.
