By all accounts, Milan Lucic seems excited to begin his new life as a Los Angeles King. But that doesn’t mean the big winger hated his time in Boston.

After learning of his trade to the Kings on Friday afternoon, Lucic, who until that point had spent his entire NHL career with Boston, took to Twitter to profess his gratitude to the Bruins organization and the fans who have supported him.

Lucic quickly became a fan favorite after breaking in with the B’s in 2007 and played a pivotal role on a team that reached two Stanley Cup Finals, winning one.

Last season was one of the least productive of his career, though, and given the package Boston received from L.A. (the 13th overall pick in this year’s draft, goalie Martin Jones and defenseman prospect Colin Miller), most viewed the trade as a win for the Bruins.

Regardless, it’s safe to say Lucic will receive a rousing ovation when the Kings visit TD Garden on Feb. 9.
