Ty Lawson read the writing on the wall. Or was it the smoke rings?

The Denver Nuggets point guard looked pretty relaxed Thursday night, smoking a hookah pipe while taking in the NBA draft from his couch. When his Nuggets selected highly touted point guard Emmanuel Mudiay at No. 7, Lawson resigned himself to an idea that has been floated around all over the NBA rumor mill.

That was “I told you — I’m going to Sacramento, bro,” if you couldn’t hear, referring to the Sacramento Kings.

Speculation has run wild that Lawson would be on the move with Denver looking to rebuild. Sacramento, led by longtime former Nuggets coach George Karl, seems to be a plausible destination, especially with Kings vice president Vlade Divac insisting he doesn’t want to trade star center DeMarcus Cousins.

This likely is just the tip of the iceberg.
