Police are investigating a car crash involving a vehicle registered to New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes, according to WCVB.

The driver of the car reported hitting a deer around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, an OnStar representative reportedly told Massachusetts State Police, who responded and found the 2011 Mercedes Maybach abandoned in the median of I-495 near Foxboro with damage to the front end, according to the the report.

No deer was found near the scene.

Shortly after, police told WCVB they received another call from a 2009 Nissan Murano that reported being hit by a car they had not seen. All three passengers in the car — including a 51-year-old man, 32-year-old woman, and 12-year-old boy — were taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.

A Massachusetts State Police spokesperson told WCVB that investigations into whether the incidents are related and who was driving the Mercedes registered to Spikes are still ongoing.

The Patriots have released a brief statement on the matter.
