We’ve all faced adversity at some point in our lives, but during a rainy night in Washington, one fan found the struggle to be especially real.

As the steady rainfall picked up in the seventh inning of Wednesday’s contest between the Nationals and Tampa Bay Rays, the poor guy decided he’d seek relief by putting his poncho on. This was easier said than done.

Since we feel bad laughing at this man’s expense, we’d like to commend him for sticking with it and getting the poncho on after nearly two minutes of confusion and fear.

Unfortunately, the Nationals didn’t reward him for his efforts. Just one inning later, Washington one-upped the poncho man’s struggles by allowing a “Little League homer” to Steven Souza en route to a 5-0 loss.
