Are we in for the Summer of Love, Part II? Not exactly, according to a new report from the Boston Herald’s Steve Bulpett.

Bulpett wrote Monday that the Boston Celtics’ interest in the Cleveland Cavaliers forward is far lower thanĀ it was at this time last year.

“According to all sources,” Bulpett wrote, “Danny Ainge still has affection for Love, but itā€™s not nearly the borderline obsession that was in play last summer.”

Love, who currently is watching the NBA Finals from the bench after undergoing shoulder surgery, is not viewed as “foundationalĀ player,” per Bulpett’s sources, who also question whether Love’s knees will hold up over the course of a lengthy NBA career.

ā€œI think he wants to be in a good situation,ā€ one league exec from outside the BostonĀ area told Bulpett. ā€œBut I also think heā€™s concerned about his health, so he wants to get a good long-term contract. I still think he stays in Cleveland.ā€

Love averaged 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds in his first season with the Cavs and wouldĀ become a free agent if he declines his $16.7 million player option for next season.
