Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: The Houston Rockets might be trying to make a big splash this offseason.

The Rockets always seem to be one of the NBA’s busiest teams in the summer months, and ESPN’s Marc Stein reported Thursday it could be another wild offseason for Houston. According to Stein, the Rockets are trying to make a push for both Kevin Love and LaMarcus Aldridge.

Reports Wednesday indicated Love was opting out of his deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers to become a free agent, and ESPN reported late Wednesday night that Aldridge was not expected to re-sign with Portland.

As Stein points out, the Rockets do have salary cap issues. One way they could start shedding some payroll could be to trade Terrence Jones. Stein reported Thursday that the Rockets are “likely to try to trade” Jones leading up to Thursday night’s NBA draft.

If the Rockets were somehow able to add both Love and Aldridge, it obviously would be pretty big for a team that won 56 games last season.
