Ronda Rousey seems to be on every magazine cover and in every Hollywood film, and she has a death grip on her UFC bantamweight belt, submitting all challengers.
However, dating is a battle Rousey isn’t willing to fight right now.
“The kind of guys I’m into have lots of desirable women willing to do backflips for them — and, I mean, if you can look like a man standing next to me, then you’re a real f—ing man — but I’m just not doing any backflips,” Rousey told Rolling Stone magazine in a recent profile.
Rousey said a “pretty well-known” guy repeatedly has asked her out, but she can’t pull the trigger on that and other dating opportunities.
“I don’t know what my problem is, and why I get so shy that I have trouble speaking, when I’m so bold in other areas,” she said. “I have an actual issue, I do believe.”
Rousey acknowledges her lack of a boyfriend leads some to believe she’s a lesbian — “I’m like, ‘No, I love men so much that I beat the f— out of girls for a living just to take them all out,’ ” she joked — but she has other priorities at the moment.
“It’s not like I have this fleeting window of time where I can have a sex life, whereas I do have this fleeting window of time where I can accomplish all these other things,” Rousey said.
Next up on Rousey’s list: UFC 190 against Bethe Correia on Aug. 1 in Rio de Janiero. Both fighters certainly don’t like each other.
“The master plan is to retire undefeated, and walk away and not have anything left to prove,” Rousey told Rolling Stone. “It’ll be hard to know when it’s time, but it’ll help to have something else to get into, which is why I’m putting time into acting and the book and buying properties.”
