Tom Brady successfully made it through the New England Patriots’ offseason training program without addressing the media, and now we’ll likely have to wait over a month to hear from the quarterback.

Brady last spoke during a scheduled appearance at Salem State University on May 7 in which he was paid $170,000, the school told The Boston Globe. Brady was paid by the non-profit Salem State Foundation to appear with Jim Gray at the university’s annual speaker series. The one-hour event was funded by ticket sales and sponsorships, Salem State spokeswoman Karen Cady told the Globe.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick participated in the event last year. Former presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton also have appeared.

Cady told the Globe that the Salem State Foundation made $40,000 from ticket sales and sponsorships from Brady’s event.

Brady said he had no reaction to the Wells Report during the talk. His discipline for his role in Deflategate, a four-game suspension, had yet to be handed down at the time of the event.
