John Daly is the best, and if you ever wonder why people root so hard for him after all this time, he provided a reminder Tuesday.
Daly is in Scotland this week preparing to compete in the British Open at St. Andrew’s, and like most PGA Tour players, he hit the course early for some practice. Unlike other players, he rocked the most gaudy pair of green shamrock-ed pants you’ve ever seen — again, in Scotland. Not Ireland.
Yup, he’s the best.
That right there is a guy who long ago stopped caring what other people think.
Daly tees off in the first round Thursday in a group with Jason Dufner and Miguel Angel Jimenez, which we wouldn’t miss for the world. Love ya, John.
