Blake Swihart In Red Sox’s Lineup For Game 2 Of Doubleheader Vs. Angels

The only change involves the battery.

The Boston Red Sox’s lineup for Game 2 of Monday’s doubleheader against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim is very similar to the lineup the Sox used in Game 1. The only difference is Blake Swihart, not Ryan Hanigan, will catch knuckleballer Steven Wright.

Swihart was activated from the 15-day disabled list before Monday’s game. Fellow catcher Sandy Leon was designated for assignment to facilitate the move.

Red Sox manager John Farrell said before Monday’s first game — an ugly 11-1 loss — that Dustin Pedroia likely wouldn’t start both games, as the second baseman just returned from the DL after battling the first hamstring injury of his career. Deven Marrero replaced Pedroia at second base in the fifth inning of Game 1 with the contest out of reach, though, so the veteran will start the nightcap.

The complete lineups for Game 2 of Monday’s doubleheader are below.

RED SOX (42-50)
Mookie Betts, CF
Dustin Pedroia, 2B
Xander Bogaerts, SS
