Bobby Robins Retiring From Pro Hockey, Played 177 Games For Providence Bruins

Bobby Robins is calling it a career.

According to reports, including his own Twitter account, Robins is retiring from pro hockey.

“It’s almost like I got a new lease on life,” Robins told Mark Divver of The Providence Journal. “One chapter ended — not the way I expected it to end. But I think everything that happens, there’s a bigger picture going on. In the end, it made me stronger and I found out a lot about myself, not just as a hockey player but as a human being.”

Robins sent out a tweet Thursday to thank his many fans.

The 33-year-old forward made his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins on opening night against the Philadelphia Flyers last season after spending time in the AHL and ECHL, among other leagues.

He played in 177 games for the Providence Bruins and three in the NHL for the Bruins.
