Carli Lloyd Scores Ridiculous Goal, Hat Trick In World Cup Final (Videos)

Carli Lloyd just became everyone’s favorite American.

Lloyd struck in the third, fifth and sixteenth minutes, setting FIFA Women’s World Cup records in the process. Lloyd’s hat trick was the fastest ever recorded in Women’s World Cup history, and the first hat trick ever in a final.

Lauren Holiday also scored for the Americans between Lloyd’s second and third goals, but it was Lloyd’s third goal — which she lobbed Japan’s goalkeeper from just inside the halfway line — that sent Americans across the globe into a frenzy.

Here are the four Team USA goals, in order.

No. 1 — third minute, Lloyd.
