Jordan Mickey officially has signed with the Boston Celtics, the team announced Monday.

Mickey, the 33rd overall pick in last month’s NBA draft, inked a deal with the Celtics reportedly worth $5 million over four years, with two of those years guaranteed.

Shams Charania of RealGM, citing league sources, was the first of several outlets to report the terms of Mickey’s contract.

Mickey was one of the standouts of the Celtics’ summer league circuit, starting all eight games for Boston and averaging 12.3 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per contest. The 6-foot-8 forward was especially impressive during the Las Vegas summer league, ranking fourth in rebounding (9.6 per game) and tied for fifth in blocked shots (2.6) among all participants.

The Boston Herald reported Sunday negotiations between the Celtics and the LSU product, who led the nation in blocked shots as a junior last season, had hit a “breakdown,” and that Mickey was willing to sign a one-year, non-guaranteed tender that would make him a free agent after his rookie season.

The Celtics now have 16 players under guaranteed contracts this season, meaning the team will need to make at least one additional roster move before the season to get down to the NBA-mandated 15-player limit.
