Dominque Easley Among Eight Patriots Placed On PUP Before Training Camp

Dominique Easley won’t be ready for the start of New England Patriots training camp Thursday.

The 2014 first-round draft pick was among eight Patriots players placed on the physically unable to perform list. Linebackers Dane Fletcher and Chris White, defensive linemen Chris Jones and Vince Taylor, wide receivers Brandon LaFell and Matthew Slater, and offensive lineman Ryan Wendell also were placed on the PUP list. Quarterback Matt Flynn was placed on the non-football injury list.

Easley’s rookie season ended early when he was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury in December.

All players on PUP or NFI can come off their respective lists at any time during training camp to begin practicing.

It’s a positive sign that defensive end Chandler Jones; linebackers Dont’a Hightower, Jerod Mayo and Jamie Collins; defensive tackle Sealver Siliga; tight end Scott Chandler and offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer, all of whom missed all of organized team activities and minicamp, weren’t placed on the PUP list yet.
