Dustin Pedroia OK For Red Sox-Angels Doubleheader? ‘I Can Play Three’

Dustin Pedroia has been off the disabled list all of two games. The Boston Red Sox almost certainly will monitor his workload, at least in the early stages of his return, as the second baseman never dealt with a hamstring injury before this season.

Just don’t expect Pedroia’s full-throttle mentality to change, even with a doubleheader against the Los Angeles Angels on tap Monday.

The Red Sox have a hectic schedule in the wake of Sunday’s game at Angel Stadium of Anaheim being postponed. They’ll play a doubleheader Monday, stay the night in California and then travel to Texas on Tuesday morning for the start of a three-game series against the Houston Astros on Tuesday night. That’s three games in two different time zones over less than two days.

And yet, Pedroia, fresh off the DL, is down for whatever. Did you expect anything less?
