You never know what to expect when a team unveils its logo, but when it comes to the Hartford Yard Goats, New England’s “newest” minor league baseball team hit a home run.

The Yard Goats, the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, unveiled their logo Wednesday as they continue preparations for their inaugural 2016 season in Hartford.

The Yard Goats debuted the new look Wednesday on Twitter, as they unveiled five new caps, all decked out in a green-and-blue color scheme. The colors, the club said in the tweet, “pay tribute to Hartford sports history.” We’re guessing fans of the Hartford Whalers can get down with the look.

The Yard Goats represent baseball’s return to Hartford, but it’s not exactly a new club. The Hartford franchise will take over for the New Britain Rock Cats, who are in their final season as the Rockies’ Double-A affiliate.
