We don’t know how long Jerry Seinfeld had been saving his latest Festivus joke, but it was pure gold.

Seinfeld is a New York Mets fan, and his favorite team traded for a major bat before the Major League Baseball non-waiver trade deadline when acquired Yoenis Cespedes from the Detroit Tigers on Friday. Suffice it to say, the “Seinfeld” co-creator seemed pleased on Twitter.

That’s better.

Even though he misspelled the name of his team’s newest player, Seinfeld managed to get the punch line across: comparing the Cespedes trade with Festivus, a fictional holiday fans of the show know well.

“That’s gold, Jerry! Gold!”
