Brock Holt was selected to the 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game as the Boston Red Sox’s lone representative. But there’s still a chance teammate Xander Bogaerts could join him at the MLB Midsummer Classic at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

Bogaerts was one of five American League candidates presented by Kansas City Royals/AL team manager Ned Yost for this season’s Final Vote, which gives fan an opportunity to select which players receive the final roster spot in each league. The Red Sox shortstop is seeking his first All-Star selection.

Bogaerts is joined on the AL side of the ballot by Detroit Tigers outfielder (and former Red Sox) Yoenis Cespedes, Minnesota Twins second baseman Brian Dozier, New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner and Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas.

The National League candidates presented by San Francisco Giants/NL team manager Bruce Bochy include Cincinnati Reds right-hander Johnny Cueto, New York Mets closer Jeurys Familia, Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw, St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Carlos Martinez and Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki.

Balloting is underway through 4 p.m. ET on Friday. The All-Star Game will take place July 14.
