MLB All-Star Game Snubs: A-Rod, Clay Buchholz Among Slighted (Photos)

You know what? The 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game rosters aren’t too shabby.

Sure, there are some undeserving players going to Cincinnati. And yeah, there are some studs positioned to soak up this year’s Midsummer Classic from their living room couches. But, all things considered, the fans, the managers and the players did a pretty good job of selecting this season’s participants.

That doesn’t mean we can’t nitpick, though. The All-Star Game is meant for nitpicking. In fact, sports are meant for nitpicking. So let’s nitpick away.

One can’t help but notice a few All-Star snubs in both the American League and the National League. Many of those snubs are featured on this year’s MLB Final Vote ballot — those candidates can be found right here — so let’s eliminate them for the purposes of this exercise. They have their chance to sneak in.

There are others who could have been selected to the All-Star Game without much fuss based on their strong first-half performances. Those are the guys we’ll focus on.

Let’s look at 10 players — five from the AL and five from the NL (to be even and fair, of course) — who deserve to punch their tickets to the upcoming All-Star Game at Great American Ball Park.
