The Los Angeles Lakers have several new players on the team this year. Three of those players have not heard from Kobe Bryant.

That much was made brutally obvious Wednesday at a press conference introducing center Roy Hibbert, guard Lou Williams and forward Brandon Bass, all of whom signed with the team in early July.

The press conference was going just fine until a reporter asked if the trio had heard at all from Bryant since arriving in Los Angeles. What happened next was one of the most painfully awkward silences you’ll ever see.

Awkward.

So, that’d be a “no.”

Kobe never has been one to be best friends with his teammates, and maybe the new Lakers saw what happened to rookie Larry Nance Jr. recently and decided to just keep their mouths shut.

But still, not even one word?

It should be another fun season in Los Angeles.
