The NFL came down hard on Greg Hardy — at first.
However, the league announced Friday the Dallas Cowboys defensive end’s suspension had been reduced to four games from the original 10 games. Hardy was suspended 10 games in April for violating the the league’s personal conduct policy stemming from an incident with his then-girlfriend in 2014.
Hardy faced domestic charges following the incident with his girlfriend. He played for the Carolina Panthers in Week 1 of the 2014 season, but was deactivated after Week 1. He eventually was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list for the rest of the season.
The assault charges eventually were dismissed in February.However, the NFL still suspended Hardy, as it came to the conclusion there was enough evidence to assume Hardy assaulted the woman.
Hardy signed with the Dallas Cowboys in March and was suspended a month later. He is now eligible to make his Cowboys debut in Week 5 against the New England Patriots.
