Paul Pierce usually does his best work at the end of games. That’s his story, and he’s sticking to it.

The new Los Angeles Clippers swingman proved to everyone why he’s a basketball player and not a baseball player earlier this week with a miserable ceremonial first pitch before a recent Dodgers game. Pierce’s woeful first pitch ended up just a bit short of home plate.

TMZ Sports caught up with Clippers head coach Doc Rivers later in the week to ask him his thoughts about the pitch. Rivers could barely stand to watch, eventually labeling Pierce’s offering “awful.”

On Friday, at a celebration in his hometown of Inglewood, Calif., TMZ Sports ran into Pierce. They asked him about his return to Los Angeles before really getting into the important stuff: the first pitch.

His response was pretty good, all things considered.
