Pedro Martinez’s wish was granted.

No, we’re not talking about Martinez merely going into the National Baseball Hall of Fame after a magnificent 18-year major league career. We’re talking about Martinez’s desire to have a Hall of Fame plaque featuring the Jheri curl he so proudly rocked late in his career.

Martinez, whose Jheri curl reached its height during the Boston Red Sox’s 2004 World Series run, told TMZ back in January he hoped the Hall would honor his “amazing” hairdo. Sure enough, when his plaque was unveiled Sunday at the 2015 Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cooperstown, N.Y., it featured the tremendous lettuce.

Jheri curl or no Jheri curl, Martinez was one of the best pitchers of all time. But given the choice as it pertains to the plaque, why not let that moss flow for eternity?

It’s just too bad the plaque doesn’t also feature the suit he wore Sunday.
