The Boston Red Sox need to add another starting pitcher to the roster next week after Eduardo Rodriguez’s start was pushed to Monday thanks to Sunday’s rainout against the Los Angeles Angels.
Rodriguez would have started Friday at Fenway Park against the Detroit Tigers, but that now gives him just three days rest. With the team already looking to monitor his arm and innings, the left-hander likely won’t be a candidate to start until Saturday.
The team has several options, including skipping Rodriguez’s start or pushing him back a day, but either leaves the team in need of a starter. Sox manager John Farrell discussed the team’s dilemma on “Red Sox Gameday Live” in the video above.
