Report: Russell Wilson, Seahawks Agree To Four-Year, $87.6M Contract Extension

Russell Wilson finally is getting his money. A lot of it.

Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $87.6 million, MMQB’s Peter King reported Friday morning, citing a source.

It’s a huge payday for Wilson, who had been going back and forth with the Seahawks in contract negotiations for quite some time. He’s projected to make roughly $21.9 million per year, putting him just behind Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers ($22 million per year) as the highest-paid player in the league.

According to King, the two sides needed until the very last minute to strike a deal.

Wilson, who has led Seattle to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, acknowledged his new contract in a tweet Friday morning.
