Andre Wisdom is hitting the road again in search of playing timeĀ and seasoning.

Liverpool has agreed to loan Wisdom to Norwich City for the 2015-16 season, Sky Sports, The Mail, The Guardian and talkSPORT reported Tuesday. Wisdom, 22, now is set for the third loan spell away from Liverpool in his career.

Liverpool and Norwich City are expected to ratify Wisdom’s loan in the coming days. Norwich City reportedly will pay Liverpool Ā£1.25 million ($1.95 million) for the young defender’s services this season.

Wisdom signed a four-year contract with Liverpool in May. He was expected to compete for playing time at right back and perhaps center back, but Nathaniel Clyne and Joe Gomes, who both joined Liverpool this summer, are ahead of him in manager Brendan Rodgers’ pecking order.

Wisdom graduated from Liverpool’s academy and made his first-team debut in 2012, but much of his development since then has taken place during loan spells with Derby County — where he spent seven months in 2013-14 — and West Bromwich Albion, with which he played 26 games on a season-long loan in 2014-15.

Wisdom now is likely to join the newly promoted Canaries under the guidance of manager Alex Neil. Club captain Russell Martin and Steven Whittaker are the incumbent right backs, but Wisdom might have a better chance of displacing one of them than he does Liverpool’s fullbacks.

Wisdom still can pursue a long-term future at Liverpool, but he must progress at Norwich City in order to do so.
