Serena Williams wins French OpenLet’s face it. In the world of women’s tennis, it’s Serena Williams and everyone else.

After her dominating win over Maria Sharapova on Thursday, Williams is back in the Wimbledon final for the eighth time in her storied career. If she defeats Spain’sĀ Garbine Muguruza on Saturday, she’ll capture her 21st Grand Slam title, putting her just one behind Steffi Graf for the most Grand Slam titles in the Open Era.

The spotlight is nothing new for Serena, though, who has been the center of attention since her and her sister Venus burst onto the scene at the turn of the century. Over the last 15 years, Williams has transformed from stud tennis player to cultural icon, breaking boundaries by appearing on ESPN the Magazine’s first-ever “Body Issue” and becoming the first black female athlete to grace the cover of “Vogue.”

Through it all, Williams has maintained her bold, brash playing style on the court and her quirky personality off it. So as the 33-year-old sets her sights on a “Serena Slam,” we’re taking a look back at some of her most notable highlights to date.
