Steven Wright is just happy to be here.
The 30-year-old knuckleballer is making his fifth start for the Boston Red Sox in Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Los Angeles Angels, and after a rough start to the day in Game 1, he’s just hoping to give the team a chance to win.
“It’s awesome, just being in the big leagues,” Wright said on “Red Sox Final” between Games 1 and 2 of Monday’s doubleheader. “The rotation is fun, but I don’t really care as long as I’m here. This is where you want to be.
“I’m looking forward to being able to carry over the things I’ve been working out down there (in Triple-A) up here.”
