Wanna know how serious the Houston Astros’ playoff push is getting? It’s getting Taylor Swift serious.

The Astros signaled they’re in it to win it Friday when they traded for Oakland Athletics pitcher Scott Kazmir. However, the real indicator the Astros have their sights set on October has to do with a little bit of schedule tinkering at Minute Maid Park.

The Astros announced Monday that Swift’s Oct. 13 concert at the ballpark has been rescheduled for Sept. 9. The October date could have conflicted with a potential American League Division Series game.

“The new show date will ensure that fans of Taylor Swift will have every opportunity to see her perform at Minute Maid Park, as the September 9th date does not conflict with any potential postseason baseball,” the Astros said in a press release.

As the Houston Chronicle pointed out, the Astros took plenty of ribbing for this December tweet upon announcing the original Swift date.

Apparently they knew what they were talking about. The Astros entered play Monday with a 55-45 record and currently hold one of the two American League wild card spots. Houston also trails the Los Angeles Angels, who visit the Astros on Tuesday, by only one game in the AL West.
