Dustin Johnson looked like a man on a mission Thursday.

After a heart-breaking finish to the U.S. Open in June where he three-putted on the final hole to lose, Johnson showed no ill effects in the first round of the Open Championship. Johnson fired a 7-under 65 as the first-round leader at St. Andrew’s.

Luckily for Johnson — and playing partners Jordan Spieth and Hideki Matsuyama — they went off early Thursday and avoided some of the Open’s notorious nasty weather. They won’t be nearly as lucky Friday as rain is in the forecast, which should make for an interesting day.

Also worth monitoring Friday is the play of Tiger Woods. The former world No. 1 shot a horrific 4-over and could be looking at yet another missed cut at a major.

Golf fans can tune in bright and early for coverage on ESPN beginning Friday at 4 a.m. ET, and the network will also once again stream coverage online. You can see the live stream by clicking below.
