It’s no longer a true title fight, but UFC 189’s featherweight matchup between Conor McGregor and Chad Mendes still should be an exciting one.
Saturday night’s main card will be an interim title fight after champion Jose Aldo broke his ribs, forcing him to pull out of the bout. But Mendes is no slouch, and McGregor’s wrestling, which is Mendes’ specialty, is unproven in the Octagon. Not to mention, Mendes’ only two UFC losses are to Aldo.
